This book contain kidnapping, Slavery, some bondage so if any of these things are triggers for you please do not read.

When I saw this book/series was written by Jason Luke and Jade West I jump at the chance to review this series. I love these two authors they are amazing writers and the way they came together in this book/series with a sensual, arousing story. For such a short story, these characters have amazing depth.

In Volume 2 we pick up where Volume 1 ended. In this volume we get to discover more about Robert & Amy.

Robert is the man they’ve instructed to train her to make her willing to make her a good product…

Robert is trying to teach her the art of a true submissive, and she really is trying to learn. She tell him she’s got this, that she can do it, that she can be the woman she need to be to get through this horrible mess alive. But can she be?

Robert and Amy come up with a plan for Amy’s survival. But as these two spend casual and intimate time together, lines start to get blurred.

I loved how emotions run high while they try to figure a way out of this mess. I highly recommend this book.

Marcus Snackenburg, aka Snack, is drop dead gorgeous, sweet, and can have any girl he wants. Minnie Cooper is beautiful, a huge Star Wars nerd, and Snack’s best friend. They became friends when Minnie moved with her dad and brothers to his small hometown when she was a little girl. They instantly had a connection and became best friends. They would do everything together and spend as much time together as they could. As the years progressed, Minnie found herself getting distanced from Snack. She didn’t like it, because she’s always had a major crush on him. She wonders if it’s her. Could she have done something to make him distant? He seems to always be hanging out with her brothers, and she just ends up being present in the room. Crazy how things can change so quickly. High school rolls around and things change. Minnie and Snack both continue to live their lives, and end up parting ways for years. Bringing it back to present day, Minnie gets a call from her dad that she needs to come back home for a little bit. She finds herself going back to the place where she first met Snack. She hasn’t seen him in years. She’s nervous about what will happen between them since it’s been so long. She feels that she’s always loved him, but would he feel the same? Snack has always thought Minnie was the one for him. That’s why he’s always called her “my girl”. Things change in his life and it brings him back to the place where he grew up. He sees Minnie for the first time in years, and all those feelings are reiterated. Will Minnie and Snack reunite and profess their love for one another? Or is it too late for them?

Absolutely loved loved loved this book! Definitely one of the best books I have read in awhile. I could not put it down! The relationship between Minnie and Snack is absolutely beautiful and one that will have you believing in childhood love again. The flashbacks back to their childhood was amazing. Extremely well written, Emme Burton has made an amazing book.

~ Review – His Light in the Dark by L.A. Fiore

His Light in the DarkHis Light in the Dark by L.A. Fiore

His Light in the Dark by L.A. Fiore is her new hit standalone story. I have read this author’s work in the past and I was really looking forward to this one. The writing was very good and the storyline was fantastic.

His Light in the Dark is about a completely broken down boy who slowly becomes a man thinking that he is not good enough for the one “light” in his life, Mia. OMG, this story was emotionally tolling for me. The beginning of this book crushed me, had my heart torn to shreds and tears lingering on my eyelids that were ready to burst at any moment. At one point, I had to put my Kindle down not just to cry but to try and re-group my thoughts because the things that Cole endured in his early childhood were so hideous, tragic and vile that I had a hard time reading about it.

What I really loved about Cole was that underneath his tough exterior facade he was the most beautiful soul. I absolutely loved the slow-build of his relationship with Mia and Mace, her dad. It was incredible and brilliantly written. The author took a serious, sensitive and heartbreaking situation and made it into something so beautiful and promising that I couldn’t contain the joy I was feeling inside for what Mace and Mia had done for Cole.

Mia, wow, this little girl who blossomed into the most beautiful and loving woman was just incredible. I was swooning over her from the start. Her relationship with her dad made my heart melt with such pure joy. The author portrayed their relationship in such a detailed way that I could feel every interaction, every feeling that these characters had for one another and it was mind-blowing. I was completely and utterly invested in this most unique, loving “family”. The way Mace took Cole in left me feeling ta way that I cannot even describe in words. I adored and cherished the way Mace and Mia embraced Cole, the way they welcomed and nurtured him, gosh, it is just plain indescribable right now how absolutely breathtaking that whole part of the story was for me. I was glued to my Kindle as I hung on every word and every sentence exchanged amongst these three.

Why not 5 Stars, well, I would have liked the storyline itself to have sped up more. It’s hard really to have wanted that too because there was SO much going on that contributed to the storyline but it was too long before Cole and Mia actually moved ahead with the obvious. Honestly, as much as I loved the storyline, I selfishly wanted more Cole and Mia time but I totally understand why the author took her time. The sexual chemistry and sexual tensions were running high and I was getting very impatient at one point. I needed Cole to get everything that he desired and deserved and for me, it was too long of a time coming for him. So maybe it was just my mere impatience wishing that the storyline advanced more quickly, lol.

The ending of this book and the Epilogue, oh gosh, I cried big fat happy tears. This book was full of suspense, mystery, it was action packed, it was hot and sexy and filled with just about every emotion one could feel while reading a much anticipated book. The writing flowed seamlessly, but also I felt had way too many details if that makes sense, I guess I wished that certain parts had been hurried along and other parts had been prolonged, wink, wink! The secondary characters were great and added so much depth to this story. I loved that I sat on the edge of my seat the entire read, not wanting to put it down at all. I was captivated from the start and could not stop until I knew what would happen with this remarkable couple and family!

The Balance by Michael Selden is a young adult novel about a girl named Phoebe, her gift, and her family. Before the Comet struck, there was the Order, long steeped in mysticism and alchemy, but it eventually became a technological behemoth. The head of the Order created Sanctuaries, intending them to preserve human progress for future generation, in case of war, they would provide safety and platforms to rebuild. Separately, there was the Council, a group composed of the three major religions, and they believed that the world was degrading based on a lack of faith and the spread of dangerous knowledge and technologies. These two groups would never agree and they seek each other out like the enemies they are. Seventeen years after the Comet struck we meet Phoebe, a girl who has a secret. She is a Sensitive, she can delve into people’s minds and that could put her and and everyone she loves in danger. She must hide her ability and its effects, but it isn’t easy, until she meets Caleb. With his help she learns how to make her gift work for her; she is able to communicate with someone she believed to be dead and through this connection, she learns that she and everyone she loves is in danger and must run for their lives. She also finds out how she came upon these gifts, and how to save those that mean the world to her.

“It’s amazing when you think about it. That such a small thing- a drop of water- can go through so many changes, be a part of so many different things, so many times. And yet, somehow, it always manages to come back as a drop of water.” I think this explains the thought behind this novel. We all go through these phases in life that change us, some for the better, some not, but they all make a lasting imprint. This is a book about two sides of every story, two ideals, and everyone thinking they are doing the right thing for their people. I personally found this story to be thought provoking and intriguing. I look forward to reading more from this author.

~ Release Blitz – Circles of Trust by Christine Hart

Circles of Trust RB Banner

What happens when a dominant is unable to dominate his own world?

Davis believed his life and everything about it was perfect; he had a great job, his own house on the beach complete with a private ‘dungeon’ for his more adventurous encounters, great friends, the perfect club membership at a private BDSM club, and what he felt was most important…total control – until the day he was forced to realize that perfection wasn’t something he could control.

Imanya and Kaena were about as completely opposite as two females could get, with one surprising shared attribute – Davis. What he comes to find out is that while he may be the ‘dominant’ when it comes to the bedroom, they each are in control of what really matters…his heart.

This is a story about some of the things that are not always controllable: things like love found and lost, unexpected new love – and a ghost or two.

Intended for adult readers who don’t mind a little BDSM and like to smile at happy endings.

“Circles of Trust” is described as, “A romance mixed with suspense, laughter, and tears sprinkled with a little BDSM and garnished with a bit of the paranormal.”
