Fall Out Girl by L. Duarte – Review by Jana Teppih

Fall Out GirlFall Out Girl by L. Duarte
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fall Out Girl by Luciana Duarte is a YA book that blows you away! I cried and I laughed and I raged and I was amazed. Your words Dear Ms Duarte, you put so much truth in them, they make one think, question what one believes in… You tear us down and then you build us up …. Where do you take it all from?
This story is about Luna and Caleb and all the other characters that are part of their lives. Luna is a badass drug dealer who volunteers at an animal shelter and takes care of her younger cousin Jake. She is full of dreams and hopes … Caleb is this adorable golden boy, the son of a judge and he is the one who will break through Luna’s façade …
I admire Luna very much, she is so much more mature than one would expect from a 17-year-old, I feel for her for the decisions she needs to take, things she does that might jeopardize her future, the way she took care of her cousin … I loved the relationship Luna and Caleb had, the simplicity of it, their love that defines the course of their life …
This book is magical, powerful, meaningful, realistic, heartbreaking, hopeful… It is full of emotions and pain, hope and love. I strongly recommend anyone to read it, it is a YA book but it is so much more!

Enigma : The Final Chapter (Enigma #4) By Shandi Boyes – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Enigma: The Final Chapter (Enigma #4)Enigma: The Final Chapter by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enigma: The final Chapter and book four and the LAST about Isaac was truly just another book by Boyes that I loved. I might have cried because this is the last about him, and I fell in love with each and every book about Isabella and him. Another book that draws you in and will hold your attention to the very end. I have to say this review will be harder for me to write because I do not want to give away any details.

We are shown again in this book that Isaac will protect those that he loves because when he loves, he loves with such a passion and such a force that it will blow your mind. We again see that Isabella is strong no matter what is thrown her way. Will you learn what Enigma really is? Will this couple that has grabbed our hearts make it through all the trails that have faced them? You must read to find these out but I will say be prepared again to read in one sitting because this book will grab you and not let you go.

I have never read a series about such strong, dedicated couple that clearly are meant to be together. I wish Isaac and Isabella could go on forever and ever because I really feel that there is so much more to learn about them both and the other characters. I have become fully addicted to the WHOLE series and plan to reread many time because they are that good and threw me into yet another book hangover. While yes many answers will be answered, you will want more and more but I have to give this book 5 stars and again say that Shandi has knocked it out of the park again. She is an extremely gifted author that I plan to follow. I see a future with this one because her books are those that captivate you, draw you in, and will stay with you always. Bravo Shandi on one of the best books I have ever read! Now I need to cry again, I love Isaac and will miss him terribly!

The Reader by M.K. Harkins – Review by Sheri Schrader

The ReaderThe Reader by M.K. Harkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Reader by MK Harkins is not your typical YA read. This is a mix of paranormal and suspense. The story is about Ann, who is fantastically feisty and smart. She wakes up alone on the beach in the Pacific Northwest with no memory. She has been shot and doesn’t remember a thing about herself or the life she lives. In walks two young men, Devon and Archer, who claim she knows them. She does not remember them. Should she trust what they say?
Suddenly she has to believe their story for the safety of their lives. She goes with them to a remote, mountain location. There she meets people she did not even know existed. These people claim to be mind-readers and she is supposed to be one of them. Not only one of them but The Lost One.
The story is fantastic and takes all sort of twists and turns. The people turn against one another. Can civilization be saved? Can the people find a way to unite? I enjoyed this book because although set in a different setting tackles matters that are currently relevant. Can people learn to live together peacefully despite their differences? I was instantly taken with the character of Ann. She is a strong, opinionated, feisty female. I would have loved to have had more background into the characters, but ultimately enjoyed this book. It is a fun fast-paced read for any age with lots of twists and turns and interesting characters.

The Girl Worth Fighting For (The Girl Series, #2) by Julia Goda – Review by Jana Teppih

The Girl Worth Fighting For (The Girl Series, #2)The Girl Worth Fighting For by Julia Goda
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished reading The Girl Worth Fighting For (The Girl Series, #2) by Julia Goda and I have to say that I absolutely loved it! It was my first book by this writer and it did not disappoint me.
I think you can read it as a standalone (as I did) but I felt that I was missing out on quite a bit, at the same time it made me curious about Lizzie and Cole (Book 1) and I will read it in the near future.
It is a book about how our past defines our future, how we create copying mechanism that might jeopardize our path to fulfillment. I also liked how the writer showed us that through persistence and commitment, one can move forward.
There are a lot of great other characters in this book and I am looking forward to Bobby’s story and Ashley and Jesse’s story and… I loved the tangents that the writer went off to and how she linked it to Logan and Rainey, it is hard to put this book down once you start reading. They pull you in and you cry with them and laugh with them and hope with them and curse with them and …. You get the picture…
For anyone whose past has helped shaped their future, Rainey and Logan’s story will touch you and you will want more!

Unraveling an Enigma (Enigma #2) by Shandi Boyes – Review by Jana Teppih

Unraveling an Enigma (Enigma #2)Unraveling an Enigma by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unraveling an Enigma: Isaacs Story by Shandi Boyes is Book 2 of a 4-book Series. You can read it as a standalone as the writer is able to write in a way that you do not feel as if you are missing anything BUT I would not recommend reading this book before reading Book 1 first, you would be missing out a lot.
It is a powerful story about the unconditional love, breaking the rules and endless devotion. As I had read the first book I planned my whole Saturday around reading Book 2 – I knew that I wanted to start and not stop until I was done with it. And I did so! I laughed and I cried and I sat on tender hooks while keeping reading to find out what is happening and the ending… oh my word, I cannot wait to start on Book 3!
The book gives us more insight into why Isaac is the way he is, we get to know other characters more and of course, we fall more and more in love with Isaac along with Isabel so we feel what she is feeling…
Shandi Boyes is an amazing writer and has a true talent. I am really happy for finding this author and I cannot wait to read Book 3 (and I think I will need to make time to read the other books in her Perception series so that I could learn more about Isaac’s brother Nick and…).

What’s Left of Me by Kimberly Lewis – Review by Jenni Bishop

What's Left of MeWhat’s Left of Me by Kimberly Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cole has been running from his past for four years because he can’t forgive himself. Returning to his parent lake house, to get himself together before seeing any one is his plan. No one knows he is back in town. Jenna hears something outside the house and panics. After creeping through the house and hiding the front door opens and she comes face to face with her intruder. Both are just as surprised as the other to find out who they are faced with. Now, here he is standing in front of the one person he came home for and determined not to make the mistake of letting her go again. But can he overcome his past to make a future with her? Will he walk away and lose any chance at happiness?

I found myself in tears reading this book. I was emotionally invested to the main character, Cole. It is a sign of a good story teller when that happens. Kimberly Lewis has written a good book. I wish the story was much longer, as it is only a short story.

The Twins (The Twins #1) by R.G. Miller – Review by Erica Fish

The Twins (The Twins #1)The Twins by R.G. Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is about twins, Stacey and Jannifer McHill that were part of a hideous rape. It is a story that is told through the eyes of Detective Isis Williams. She was assigned a case that had a horrible outcome due to rage. Detective Williams really found herself while working on this case. It is a book that has a couple of curve balls that you see but when it happens you still cannot believe it. Detective Williams was a hot headed woman. She is a lost soul. She really finds what really matters to her throughout this investigation. There is not a “quote” per say, but when she is feeling herself getting angry she starts throwing punches in the air to gain her composure. There are some males important to the story, but I felt Detective Annette Toni was an important character. When she calls Williams “babe” it was an important part to see the growth that Williams was going through.

R.G. Miller is an excellent story teller. He likes to throw little curve balls in the story. The fact that this was a thriller kept me on my toes. Although there were times there was a break away to the other story line and it made me reread a part because I thought I was lost. I love how he tells exactly what happens to the twins right before the last hurrah of the story. I would definitely recommend this story. It was a good read. I cannot wait for book 2.

Bet Me Something (Something, #3) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jana Teppih

Bet Me Something (Something, #3)Bet Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and I have read all three of them and am impatiently waiting for the 9th of February when the fourth book is coming out!
WARNING! It is a highly addictive series and every time you finish a book you start thinking of characters you encountered that you hope that Ms Bondurant would give their own book to! I know Catherine is coming next but what about Mark and Will and… you get my drift! You become an addict thinking of your next fix.
As I have read all three books in the series, it feels as if the writing is getting better and better with each book, Ms Bondurant has truly grown into her craft and there is nothing in the book that I would take away or have an issue with or… I think she is great with building the story, showing how Kenzie is growing into herself and finding out what it is that she is supposed to be doing with her life, standing up for herself, her love…and Colby, a man child, vulnerable and playboy, needing to grow up and stop hiding and take a stand… Ms Bondurant does not write about being perfect and having everything come easy, she writes about that we need to work for what we want and what we deserve!
Some might say that the book is too long but I disagree, the journey to find one self is not short, relationships that last are not short so how could a book conveying all it to be short (also, I looove long books). I had to compromise a bit on my sleep but it was so worth it! If you work, I suggest plan a weekend with the book and tell your friends that you are not available! You will not regret it!
You can read Bet Me Something without having read the first two books but I really recommend to read the other two as well (they are available on Kindle Unlimited…. hint, hint…), you will get so much more out of the series when you read all three books.
SO, now I need somehow manage to last until the 9th of February – only 3 more weeks …. And then I will find out what Ms Bondurant has in store for Catherine…. hmm… I wonder what ….

First Kill (Heaven Sent #1) by Mary Abshire – Review by Sheri Schrader

First Kill (Heaven Sent #1)First Kill by Mary Abshire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First Kill by Mary Abshire is the first in the Heaven Sent series. The story is a paranormal romance. Andrew is an angel that is sent from heaven to kill demons on earth for punishment for his sexual promiscuity. Emily is on the run and finds Andrew in the middle of the road. Can the two of them be helpful to one another?
Andrew has demons to kill while abstaining from sex or his time on Earth will be extended. Emily is running from her problems. The two of them go on the adventure of their lives while learning to trust a stranger. Will Emily eventually learn to trust Andrew? Can she accept that he is actually an angel and that he is on a mission to kill demons?
The story is well paced and left me wanting to read the next adventure. Andrew is funny with his comparisons about Heaven and Earth. Emily is a sweet, well-meaning young lady who has had some tough luck. I was rooting for both of them to succeed and come closer, but not too close. I am anxious in seeing where their story progresses.

Ask Me Something (Something, #2) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jana Teppih

Ask Me Something (Something, #2)Ask Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and it is the second book I have read by this writer.
I have to say that I was very much looking forward to this book after finishing the first one as there were quite a few characters in the first book that I thought that it would be interesting to see how their stories could look like. This book is a story of Sasha and Brian.
I was in no way disappointed, Ms Bondurant’s writing was even better, the characters were more complex, there were no embellishments, you were getting hit with emotions right and left…I cannot tell you how much I cried while I was reading this book… Don’t worry, it is not a bad thing, I think it gives credit to the writer’s ability to write so well that I could relate to what was going on to the extent it made me cry. I did laugh out loud as well, no doubt there!
Ms Bondurant does not shy away from the topics that many of us struggle with – control over being vulnerable, anxiety, panic attacks, being alone or trusting, keeping appearances or letting people in… I felt like I was living the life Sasha was living, feeling the pain, confusion, triumphs, love, sex…
The sexy scenes are plentiful and they fit into the story line. They show clearly how the intimacy keeps growing between Sasha and Brian. Nothing is wrong between two people if they there is an agreement and trust.
You can read the book as a standalone but why should you when there is a great first book that introduces you to the world Ms Bondurant is creating for us. Get a glass of wine and settle down for the long evening (or weekend) and enjoy yourself! Have a box of Kleenex at hand, you will need it if you let yourself to go on a journey with Sasha and Brian!
I am hooked on the series and the third book is already lined up in my e-reader! The expectations are high and I am sure Ms Bondurant will be delivering!

Unbroken Fates (Fates Reborn #1) by G.M. Scherbert – Review by Jana Teppih

Unbroken Fates (Fates Reborn #1)Unbroken Fates by G.M. Scherbert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unbroken Fates by GM Scherbert is the first book in the Fates Reborn Series. This is the first book by this writer that I have read so I was curious what it would be about.
Unbroken Fates is a very emotional rollercoaster story that pulls you in from the beginning. It is also a very well written BDSM novel that gives a great introduction into that world to someone who maybe has never read anything like that before. In addition to the BDSM topic which saucy videos of can be enjoyed at websites similar to https://www.cartoonporno.xxx/, one also encounters the ‘older woman – younger man controversy.
The story is told alternating between the two main characters Nicholas and Alexandra and it is amazing how the writer is able to get into the shoes of each of the character providing us with the back story to their actions and reactions. The emotions that Alex and Nick feel are extremely intense and raw just like the sex on www.sexfreehd.xxx and it is clear why the betrayal cuts as deep as it does and why it takes so much and so long to regain the trust.
It is a great read; as it is a BDSM novel and contains scenes of strong sexual nature, it is suitable for mature readers, just like hot material from websites like https://www.teentuber.xxx/. The story is fast and has you turning page after page so be prepared that you cannot put it down before you are actually done with it. I suggest to take the time and get on the journey of self-discovery with Alex and Nick, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain when staying true to one self and going against the norm and societal expectations!

First Kill by Mary Abshire – Review by Jenni Bishop

First Kill (Heaven Sent #1)First Kill by Mary Abshire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The death of one of her best friends is enough for Emily to decide to walk away. She has had enough of her life and the torture her parents have put her through. Being second fiddle to a younger sister and watching someone she loved slowly kill herself has finally taken it’s toll. Leaving Troy her best friend in the world, will be the hardest thing to do but she knows he will be there for her whenever or wherever no matter what.

Whilst heading out of town she stumbles across a naked man in the middle of the road. Emily decides to help him, Andrew, out but can she trust him? The story he tells of an Angel sent back to earth for having too many relations with women and having to kill Demons as penance, is so far fetched he is either a lunatic or a very good liar.

I actually loved this book and the characters. They were really well written and the story drew you along for the ride. I love a story that has the character tell their side of the story. I went through a roller coaster of emotions which proves to me that Mary is a very talented writer. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked (Enigma #3) By Shandi Boyes – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked (Enigma #3)Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shandi Boyes, Enigma: The mystery unmasked, was simply just another amazing book about our favorite guy Isaac. Ever since time I pick up a Shandi Boyes book, I fall in love. But Isaacs’s story has stuck with me and he is the ultimate book boyfriend to me quickly removing many that have held that status. I never want her books to end, but let me tell ya the cliffhanger at the end will make ya get mad, but let me tell ya tell ya, it’s so WORTH IT!

Isabella continues to see so much good in Isaac and wants to clear his name even if that means she breaks her own heart to do so. She’s wants others to see the good in him and not just what people are hearing through rumors. Isaac is strong, determined, and wealthy and will always protect those that he loves. Isabella is HIS and he will protect her at all COSTS! Isabella is being told to stay away till his name is cleared and Isaac is also being told he also need to stay away till he clears his name.
Again, Boyes has given us a story to get lost in with amazing characters that you fall in love with even more as each book tells this story. Isabella truly is one of the BEST characters I have ever had the chance to read. I love that she is so beautiful yet she doesn’t see it, I love how her emotions make YOU FEEL. I cried a few times with this series and I have ever only cried to two book EVER! I loved that no matter what Isaac or Isabella was going through they had amazing support. A book that can make me mad, cry laugh and feel so much gets five starts and so wish I was able to give more. Shandi Boyes truly is one of the best authors I have read in so long and I CANT wait to read more from her. I highly recommend this book and ALL the others she has written. She draws you in and you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Carnage at the Christmas Party: A Mystery Novella (A Windy Pines Mystery Book 2) by Holly Tierney-Bedord – Review by Jana Teppih

Carnage at the Christmas Party: A Mystery Novella (A Windy Pines Mystery Book 2)Carnage at the Christmas Party: A Mystery Novella by Holly Tierney-Bedord
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Carnage at the Christmas Party by Holly Tierney-Bedford is book two in the Windy Pines mystery series. It can be read as a stand-alone novella.
It is the second book I am reading by Holly Tierney-Bedord and I have to admit that it was not my cup of tea but it does not mean that it was not a good book. It is a crazy, silly and easy read and I imagine that someone who likes mysteries might really get a kick out of it.
One thing that I really like about this writer’s books are those quirky weird characters who you have to sort of scratch your head a bit and think to yourself “hmmm I think I really like/hate him/her”. She does not let us down in this mystery novella either – there are characters here that you would like to introduce to ‘carnage’ way before the party, Charlotte at times felt a bit weak but then thinking that you are 26 years old and are trying to get into a new job with some lecherous males with power, well I think she was doing pretty well, Ensar was just a delight AND I absolutely loved Mr Primate. AND I really dig some of the names like O’Leery!
The story has many twists and as it is with good mysteries, you do need to wait until the end to find out who is the culprit; maybe one downside is that even though the title of the novella is Carnage at the Christmas Party, in the novella itself the whole carnage is over very fast, maybe the blood thirsty in me wanted a bit more.
I recommend it as a quick holiday read when you are overwhelmed with your kids and visitors, you can cause carnage in your head instead of in the real life!

Enigma of Life (Enigma #1) by Shandi Boyes – Review by Jana Teppih

Enigma of Life (Enigma #1)Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enigma of Life – Isaac’s Story is the first book in the Enigma Series or Book 6 of Perception series. It is all about Isaac.
I cannot tell you how much I loved this book! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I just finished it and I know what my next books are (Books two, three and four), I am happy that I happened to read the first book when all the other ones had been released already, don’t know how I would have managed to survive the wait!
This book sucks you in and doesn’t let you up for air until you are done with it! I have to confess, I read it in one go! I am completely in love with both Isaac and Isabelle, they both are complex characters and dig their way into your heart. When the book ends, your heart breaks and you feel the need to go and get the next book right away (I will wait until tomorrow as I have to go to bed and work tomorrow!).
It is not your typical love story, there are ethical questions Isabelle struggles with, the past that both of them are impacted by and the undeniable chemistry…
I so recommend the series to anyone who is looking for a story that spans multiple books, keeps you on your toes, finds you rooting for complex characters that have earned your love and admiration and has some hot sex thrown into it. You will NOT be disappointed!

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1)Savage Collision by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh what can I tell you about Savage Collision?! I can tell you that there are secrets and information withheld for the purest of reasons. I can tell you this story will break your heart just a little and very nicely put it back together again. I can tell you McNamee can write a really good story!
McNamee introduces us to Danika by showing us that she is a sister not to be toyed with. When Danika thinks her sister Nora is in trouble, all bets are off and you do not want to be in her way. Savage, the perceived reason that Nora is in trouble, gets an up-close and personal look at Danika’s protective side! Danika plans to save her sister from Savage and his club but she doesn’t except the owner to look and sound and smell like Savage Hawke.
Savage has always had women throw themselves at him. His money, his body, his connections. They all want something. When Danika comes busting in his office he is sure she wants something too. Savage hopes she wants what he does. He isn’t expecting his own body to respond like it does. He can’t believe the fire he sees in Danika just from their first encounter. And boy oh boy is there fire!
This story had me laughing, crying, and even panting! These two are super hot together, but as with all good things, this too will end, right? With the secrets they each hide and the danger lurking around can Danika and Savage really be it for each other? I for one have always said communication is the key to everything, McNamee has proven me wrong with this story. Some things really are on a need to know basis. I love being wrong, this time. I highly recommend this story!

It Must Be Love: A Mustang Prairie Romance by N.D. Jackson – Review by Colleen Noyes

This was my first book by N.D. Jackson but OMG it won’t be my last! I just went and bought the first three in the series and can’t wait to dive into them.

Trixie grew up living a different lifestyle than most people, spending some of her life as part of a commune and maybe a little hippie. She is the type of woman though who can light up the entire room with just one smile. She has an energy about her that draws you to her and makes you feel like you want to be part of that world with her in it. Her last relationship has left her feeling uneasy and unsure of herself.

Jack is the hot and sexy kind of man that will make your knees weak! He was married to the love of his life and has two beautiful children. He had what everyone perceived as a once in a lifetime love that was ended too soon by tragedy. He has devoted his whole life to his sweet girls and that’s all he has room for and never wants to experience “love” again. He holds on to a secret that he just can’t allow anyone to find out about, especially now.

Trixie always had a crush on Jack as children but she was just the annoying little girl next door he never really saw. When she moves back to Mustang Prairie and they encounter each other for the first time it’s not in the greatest setting and both are taken aback. They soon discover there is an undeniable chemistry between them and boy is the sex hot! Spending time as friends with benefits is just what Jack thinks he needs and wants, but can Trixie do casual and cut off? What happens when two people have different wants and desires?

It Must Be Love is a beautiful story about how two people have an idea of what love is but soon discover that maybe they really have no clue at all. Sometimes when you have had a life filled with disappointment in the love department, you realize that maybe it’s because it was all leading you to the one you truly belong with, but is that the case with these two? Is there anything there past lust, desire, and fun? Can they overcome their past to find a future together? Only time will tell and you’ll have to read the book.

ND Jackson does a wonderful job of bringing you the visualization of what is going on. You can see the bluest skies, the hot bodies, the way the clothes fit. You can feel what is happening and find yourself laughing and crying. I love that the author uses enough details but doesn’t overdue it where it becomes long and boring and you are just sitting there waiting for the dang point. I love that the author builds several relationships and explores those, not just a potential love story but the friendships, the families, and everything in between. This book felt like a community and a community that anyone would want to be part of. I’m hoping we get to see more of these characters in follow up books.

Falling for Mr Wrong: A fun romance with twists and turns. by Joanne Dannon – Review by Jana Teppih

Falling for Mr Wrong: A fun romance with twists and turns.Falling for Mr Wrong: A fun romance with twists and turns. by Joanne Dannon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling for Mr Wrong takes you on a crazy ride from the first Chapter on and never lets you off! I am not complaining! I loved it!
The story is not too complicated – an Aussie girl gets caught up in a web of an unscrupulous British politician who uses her to cover up his infidelity and then a White Knight with plans for revenge gets into the picture and…you get the picture, right?
I loved the way Ms Dannon writes – having lived in England and hung out with different Aussies, reading her book felt like being back – all those words and expressions…
Considering that we have an Aussie nanny working in the UK, it is actually quite surprising that the whole story actually takes place in Israel – I love it as it is not so common. It sets a believable stage for Tilly’s plans for re-inventing herself and also might get us thinking that maybe we should go and travel to Israel ourselves…
Falling for Mr Wrong is a very good romance that takes you away from every day dreariness and you simply cannot stop reading – set your children up with some sort of activity where they do not need supervision (or send them off to a play date), grab a glass of wine and just indulge!

A Second Time Around by Ashlie Knapp – Review by Shannon Fowler

A Second Time AroundA Second Time Around by Ashlie Knapp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this story starts out a little… no a lot heart breaking, I absolutely love it! It is a story with all the feels! Heartbreak, love, understanding, patience, hilarity, more love and even more hilarity!

“Listen to you, Ms. Down and Out. I’m not used to this. You always have the unicorn farting rainbows mentality.”

There were even some parts I could really relate to because I say this daily:

“I’m a teacher . Throat punching would be a bad idea.”

This story is about Kasey and Paul. Kasey loses her perfect husband, Daniel, in a tragic accident right in chapter one. After a couple of years of mourning and being set up on horrible blind dates by her best friend, Beth, Kasey finally meets Paul. He is almost too good to be true. During the first week of meeting, Kasey and Paul have nothing but unbelievably chaotic craziness! From bloody noses, naked children, and a case of diarrhea! Nothing goes as planned and while Paul thinks he should be running for the hills, Kasey thinks he should too! Luckily enough for the both of them, there is something intriguing about the other to keep them wanting to get to know each other in spite of the messes that have happened.
Kasey has a secret, well something that may be the final straw for Paul. However when Kasey calls for Daniel in a moment of terror what can Paul do?

This story is so good. So funny! When Kasey and Paul get to meet Kasey’s parents I nearly peed my pants from laughing so hard! Who would have thought that was going to happen! This story is definitely worth a read!

Virtue of Death by Randi Perrin – Review by Jana Teppih

Virtue of DeathVirtue of Death by Randi Perrin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Virtue of Death is the first of the series of Earthbound Angels and I absolutely loved it! I have always loved paranormal and the author has now a place in my bookshelf next to Cynthia Eden and Gena Showalter and … It did not hurt that I also love baking and quirky bakeries.
I am impressed how the author has duality of life – life-birth-creativity and the death-end. I feel so much like Sera when baking – you are creating something amazing that brings people pleasure, creates memories and awakens memories. I also love how she has found positive in her ‘job’ as an Earthbound Angel – it would be so easy to just get stuck with the surface and say it is so morbid.
Another great storyline is the unconditional friendship between Sera and Cheryl – they have been friends since they were 8 years old and they have been Angels together since they were 18 years old. I love Cheryl’s black humor and unwavering loyalty and gothiness mixed with sweetness.
Of course we cannot forget about the love story between Sera and Destin. What an irony – when Sera finally truly falls in love, it is with a …. food critic and journalist!
With little twists and pain and suffering it all ends well, there are no lingering questions that would hound us and I think it is good as sometimes we simply need a book that is a great read, makes us laugh and cry and makes us look forward to another Earthbound Angels’ story. The author has confirmed that she has finished the manuscript). I hope she does not make us wait too long!

The Sound of Love (The Sound Series Book 1) by Maria Watts – Review by Heather Bass

The Sound of Love (The Sound series #1)The Sound of Love by Maria Watts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from this author and wow she blew me away. I absolutely love rockstar romance but this story exceeded all my expectations. This talented author made these characters come to life with her writing. This is the first book in The Sound series. These characters kept me up at all hours of the night. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.

Nina Bains is your typical teenage. She is a good student and is a very good daughter. Nina doesn’t like any boys expect her dream love Chris Mulligan from the number one boy band of Funky Guys. She is absolutely in love with him. Nina is shocked when she finds out that one of her friends gives her Chis’s number. They start to get to know each other and when he comes into her town her life changes. Next thing she knows she is going on the road with her dream man. She quickly realizes that not everything is glitz and glamor for the rich and famous. Nine is caught into his world so much she starts to question everything she believes in. Will Nina be able to handle the rockstar life or will she realize that she doesn’t belong?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, struggles, and finding yourself. You will absolutely fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Nina is a beautiful teenager that is trying to find out who she is. She is a sweetheart but she doesn’t let anyone walk on her. Chris is your handsome band heart throb that has a good heart. He loves his life but he also wants more than just fame. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. I absolutely loved the ending. I can’t wait to meet the rest of this wonderful band.

Enigma of Life (Enigma Book 1) by Shandi Boyes – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Enigma of Life (Enigma #1)Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes is Isaacs’s story and the 6th book in the Perception Series. I fall more and more in love with the characters each book and love Shandi even more as I am able to read these amazing books. This book is a part of a series and I recommend reading the WHOLE series. This has turned into one of my favorite rock and roll series and am to get completely lost in the books about some amazing and sexy bandmates. But out of all of these books, this one KNOCKED me on my BUTT and left such a mark in me. The only word I can use to describe this book is INTENSE!

Isaac, he is sexy, HOT, mysterious, and so hard to understand. He is NOT the one to being home to mom but the one all your fantasies are about and the one who will make you feel things you never have! Isabella lost her family and moved to a new town and has gotten a new job. She literally falls at his feet and is memorized by this guy. When they are thrown back into each other’s lives, Isabella is living two lives and carrying a huge secret that she hopes stay hidden. Isaac, there is something that draws you to him and he will be forever planted in your heart. Quickly you will see what I did, this is NOT your typical love story.

WOW, WOW, and even more WOW! Shandi Boyes hit this one out of the park and I cannot wait to read more on Isaac. I am completely in love with this character and want to know more and more. I have waited for his story and I am NOT disappointed in any way! He grabbed my heart and there is where he will stay. Shandi has this power to create strong stories and characters that will draw you in so much and make you able to finish a book in one sitting because you WANT and NEED to know how things end. I give this book five bright and huge stars and wish that I was able to give even more! BRAVO!!! I am hooked!

Karma (Endgame Series #2) by Leigh Ann Lunsford – Review by Colleen Noyes

Karma (Endgame Series #3)Karma by Leigh Ann Lunsford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Leigh Ann Lunsford has again hit it out of the park. This is the 3rd book in the Endgame Series and it’s rare for the third book to be every bit as good as the first and second but it is.

Mason Adler is a self-assured, arrogant, smart-mouthed player who often takes his friends man cards. However he is also loyal, protective, and a fierce friend.

Brecklynn Collier has had a rough past that she is trying to overcome. She protects her heart like a lioness protects her cubs. She knows what Mason is all about and wants no part of him.

As the two tread into unknown waters, you feel the push and pull. Just as one wall comes down another two go up. When one person has never entered these types of relationships and the other has major trust issues how can there ever be any middle ground? How can they even out the see saw of their life? Then when the unexpected happens these two are thrown into the middle of a crisis. How will they handle it? Will it destroy everything they have been working toward?

What I love most about this series is it’s about a bond that 5 people share as the root of the tree and then like every good tree it branches out. They lean on each other, fight, harass, and pick on each other, but at the end of the day they lean on each other and have a solid foundation.

This story in-particular is hilarious! I found myself laughing so hard, spitting out my drink, and having to stop to read some of it again. Probably my absolute favorite line in the whole book is “It doesn’t make me happy – they both get a reward for screwing me over. I hope her v*gina turns into a Venus flytrap and snaps his d*ck off”. If you read the first two books (and you have to this is not a standalone) then you will be able to actually “see” Mason saying these things. The author does a brilliant job of making you connect with the authors in a way that you can feel like you are there witnessing everything.

I can’t wait for Avery’s story next.
