Hell on Heels written by: Victoria Vane This story is a complex of emotions. Ty Morgan is a cowboy who was burned by his first marriage and was not going there again. He sealed up his heart and only had one night stands never bringing any of them back to his home. His ex-wife got half of his family farm during the divorce and he believes she stays there out of spite. So Ty is reluctant to just give his heat away seeing how it worked out the last time. Tom Brandt stepped in when Ty’s dad was killed by a bull and raised him. Tom never knew about his daughter till ten years ago. Monica Brandt was raised by a nanny her mother hired because she did not have time to be bothered by a baby. Her nanny raised her till she was 5 and sent her to boarding school. Monica felt she never belonged and so desperately wanted to be loved just for her. So she graduated and went to work on Wall street in New York. She started to feel her life was out of control and the man she was engaged to did not love her the way she wanted to be loved. Ty called her to let her know her father had a stroke and she was on the first plane out. Upon arriving her thoughts of Ty was he was out to milk her father out of his money. They argue over everything about the hotel. Monica wants to sell it and Ty wants to rebuild it and its what Tom signed off on. Monica told him his choices were to sell, buy her out, or come up with funding to buy her out and rebuild. So Ty called on his ex-wife to see if she knew anyone who would be interested in. Monica has already fell into bed with Ty being the best night of her life. But she is like hot and cold water she flakes when they get too close. Monica is the one who wants more than a one-night stand but realizes that will never happen with Ty. She knew Evan didn’t love her but he was committed to her. Is that what she wanted, just to be secure without love in her life, she didn’t know. All she knew at the moment was Ty was not interested in anything permanent he made that abundantly clear. She feels like he sees through her and she wants to always be in control of everything. “Two heard headed people with different backgrounds and different ideas who stubbornly stand their ground till the other folds, is nothing but explosive and entertaining.”
