The Master is a story of learning to trust, of courage, of overcoming the past and moving forward. The author put a lot of thought into this story. Its complexity of the BDSM world and explaining the roles helps you get into the mindset of the events as they unfold. It grabs your heart and emotions as you walk with the author. Your emotions are all over the pace. You have a broken wounded submissive that is at a crossroad afraid to move forward so they put her with a Dom who will retrain her. Cole Johnson is suffering himself, his long term submissive of 8 years just walked out on him so he’s trying to come to terms with that. Cole does not believe Sasha will be able to handle his lifestyle but he agrees to retrain her. His condition is not to have sex, but to teach Sasha to learn how to trust again. As the story continues they both realize the sexual attraction they have for each other. Everyone in the group thought Cole would be too much for Sasha to handle, but once they saw her whole attitude change he was the right choice. Sasha had a problem with panic attacks and when Cole touched her he calmed her. “You give me your body for my pleasure, but in exchange, I give you my very soul. In dominating you, I expose a part of myself that is shown to very few. Tonight, I give that part of me to you for your keeping.” One of my favorite quotes. Cole’s number one rule the most important rule he had, the one that is not negotiable, the one that is you can’t agree to we will end this now, is that there must always be complete honesty between us. I play too intensity for anything else. As the weeks progressed Cole and Sasha both realized they both were falling. He realized she needed to experience playing with other doms. Cole never expected to fall for the woman destroyed by a reckless dom. She was his air he needed to breath. Will they both get the ending they want, or will fate step in and keep them apart. The story is fast moving, well structured, the character’s spot on.
