City Of Champions – A Gateway to Love Novel Book 2 by Chloe T. Barlow
Wow this book totally sucks you in from the very beginning. It’s a long book about 400 pages and I just couldn’t seem to put it down. I loved book 1 but this one was just amazing.
We see the same characters in this book as we did in book 1 with some new characters too. However, this book gives a closer look into Jenna’s life.
The book pretty much takes place towards the end of book 1.
Jenna is such a strong woman and has her life cut out for her. She hasn’t dated much lately. The author lets us know how Jenna has had her heart broken as a teenager by an athlete her father coached back then and has vowed to never get involved with another athlete again.
Her life is about to change when Griffen gets VIP seats to a Pittsburgh Roughnecks game which includes a meet and greet afterwards with a few players and one of the players being none other then Wyatt McCoy. Wyatt offers to give Jenna a private tour to get to know her but she doesn’t fall for his charm. Somehow he keeps running into her which is almost stalkerish!
Shortly after meeting Jenna, Wyatt needs to see an Orthopedic Surgeon and he has to choose from a few approved by the team and he spots the blonde beauty he can’t seem to get off his mind so he thinks he can go see Dr Jenna Sutherland and get her to say he doesn’t need surgery but, she agrees with the team trainers that Wyatt will need surgery. Wyatt then thinks he can somehow persuade the blonde beauty to change her mind if he can just get close enough to her for her to see he is fine.
Nothing ever happens the way we want it to. Somehow, feeling get involved and both Wyatt and Jenna both get their hearts ripped out.
Friends are the most important people in your life. Without your friends, you will be lost and Jenna knows first hand just how much her friends care about her. This book was an emotional roller coaster with lots of hot sex in between!
2 of my favorite quotes in the book were
“We had a perfect Christmas together. But, I can’t let you be in my new year…and damn if that doesn’t hurt like hell. I’m sorry, but it’s time to say good-bye
“I’d been in love with you for a while already, even if I was to dumb to understand it. But that was when the reality of it all hit me. I suddenly got it – I had to make you mine”
Another awesome book in the series!
Book 2 does not end with a cliffhanger
