Let me start by saying this book could show up on the Hallmark channel that’s how good this book is. We have twist and turn with secrets and estranged siblings but you can see the family bonds.
We have Lise and she just found out her estranged sister Callie (country/popstar) has just passed away leaving her with a whole new chapter in life. She has also given Lise the responsibility of taking on her daughter, fame, money and public.

Overwhelmed by grief and her new responsibilities, Lise thinks things couldn’t get any worse and suddenly she and her longtime friend Dale are plastered over the front pages of the tabloids. And she has just become an overnight obsession with the paparazzi.

Callie never told Ariel who her father was so she decides to start looking through her mother’s personal belongings and comes across her diary and Ariel thinks she can figure out who her father is.

Will Ariel find out who her father is? Will the repercussions from Callie’s past hurt her Ariel and Lise?

Desperate to escape both the media and her memories, Lise sets off with Ariel on a search for her father. They set on a journey of discovery to find Ariel’s father with the media closely shadowing behind but they also discover love, and family. They can’t trust anyone but themselves to keep them safe when they revisit the past of Callie’s high school years in her diary. It takes us through her old sweethearts showing what they were like then compared to now but life is never that straight forward so this book has a few bumps in the road.

Instead of granting Lise a reprieve, the quest brings her face-to-face with long-buried secrets. Will Lise be-able to move on from these secrets? I have to say I really enjoyed Ms. King’s writing. The characters where remarkable and she made the story believable like I said earlier this story can be on the Hallmark channel. I can’t wait to see what Ms. King has in-stored for us next.
