Everything I Left Unsaid by M. O’Keefe is the first book in the Everything I Left Unsaid series. This story follows Annie McKay on her journey to some sort of freedom. But even after surviving the disasters at home, she still faces many new challenges in the unknown world. She knew her life was changing, but she never expected it to change quite so much. Who knew answering a phone could lead to such beautiful and wonderful discoveries?
Dylan Daniels is the mysterious voice on the other end of that fateful phone call. Asking someone to keep watch over the guy a few doors down is routine for Dylan. He does this often and he pays well. He never expected a sweet girl like Annie to answer the phone. When she offers to do it for free, a game is set into motion. Dylan has his reasons for wanting Ben, the neighbor watched, but he isn’t about to share that information.
The two are set off on a collision course that you’ll never see coming. Annie hides her true self from Dylan and Dylan hides his true self from Annie. Each with their own demons to battle, the two feel a connection like they have never experienced. They find themselves needing each other, but not in a typical way. The phone calls are never meant to be more than phone calls, but Dylan pushes Annie to become more adventurous, more self-aware. Annie reaches out to Dylan to help her grow. Dylan reaches out to Annie because he can’t resist her.
Drama with Ben finally unfolds and Dylan comes to Annie’s rescue. Finally, their feelings for each other can be felt full-force as the two come face to face for the first time. After a brief stay with Dylan, where Annie confesses her secrets, she returns to the trailer park she most recently called home. It is on this return trip that she knows what she must do to have Dylan in her life and she will stop at nothing.
Need more Dylan and Annie? Trust me, after the cliffhanger ending you will most definitely want more. These two are not finished and the demons Annie has been desperately running from have finally caught up with her.
