I absolutely loved this book. Susan hit it out of the park with Corrie and Quint in this book. Corrie is an absolutely amazingly strong woman, who has overcome a lot in her life due to being blind and has achieved her goal of becoming a chiropractor. Quint is an amazing man who works for the San Antonio Police Department and is immediately taken by Corrie and does his best to insert himself in her life. The start of the book is where some of the violence takes place, and sets the tone for this book. Between what happens at the start and the investigation that’s going on Corrie is constantly making sure that she is safe, until Quint comes into her life and takes it upon himself to protect her and in turn fall in love with her. Quint and Corrie work so well together, he is attentive to her needs and is always making sure that no matter what she is taken care of and makes sure that she knows he is only doing it to show that he cares. Corrie falls hard for Quint especially when he decides that he wants to learn more about her and how she lives her everyday life. He doesn’t look at her or treat her like she is handicapped, he treats her like he would anyone else in his life. Towards the end of the book, there is more violence that takes place and while it is somewhat graphic, it shows you just how strong and resilient that Corrie is. She knows that Quint will save her, but she also knows that she has to buy some time for Quint to be able to get to her. Susan has done it again with this book and I cannot wait to read about more of the characters from this series. If you want a good book with suspense and romance Susan Stoker is definitely a must read author.
